The 2009 Iveco Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Phillip Island

Casey Stoner completed a stunning hat-trick of home victories when he outran World Champion Valentino Rossi in Sunday’s 2009 Iveco Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Riding a Ducati with special Australian flag livery to mark his 24th birthday, Stoner thrilled a third-day crowd of 50,094 that carried the three-day total to 105,794 – the second-highest total since the race returned to the spectacular Bass Strait circuit in 1997.

Thank you to everyone who visited the Spokes stand in the GP Expo over the three days. The lucky winner of the $3,000 Protective Clothing prize was Jodie Wagner of Mildura – congratulations and safe riding Jodie!

Look forward to seeing you all on the Island again next year.
